Dignity Kitchen is the world’s first social enterprise food court working with the disadvantaged and disabled offering quality food and service to the public. It is the unique solution to inner city issues of the long-term unemployed, ageing population and work for people with disabilities. Dignity Kitchen’s primary focus involving education and outreach forms the mission: To build and return dignity to the disadvantaged and disabled through vocation with passion.

An initiative conceptualised in 2006 and incorporated 4 years later, Dignity Kitchen’s educating efforts include using a functional food court as a training platform and a combination of innovative teaching methods to develop the students’ skill set. The interactive experience created by the dynamic environment between the public and the students, allows for the enhancement of educational values.
